About AMP
Black Theatre Workshop is proud to unveil a new chapter in its story as the Artist Mentorship Program returns, under the guidance of new Associate Program Director, Sarah Labissière! Entering its 11th year, and following a decade of artistic excellence, the BTW team is looking forward to amplifying the talent and skills of emerging and established theatre practitioners on a national scale.
The program will offer a production and administrative focus and is designed to support early-career and experienced artists. As a part of its expansion and desire to support artists who wish to work in the English and/or French sectors of Canada’s unique bilingual theatre landscape, AMP workshops will now be offered in English and/or French, within a newly implemented two-year framework.
Offering various workshops, 1-on-1 coaching, and networking opportunities, the program aims to deepen production knowledge and foster critical thinking around live performance. An enriching and collaborative experience, the program will culminate in public-facing events for various audiences to enjoy. AMP will offer tailored career development workshops to address the needs of the cohort.
